In winter, the lack of leaves on the trees leads me to gain some altitude to seek out the fir trees. I went to Dent de Vaulion that day, hoping to find snow. After a beautiful walk in the forest, I finally reached a sparser area, ideal for isolating my subjects.
Clouds came to my aid by weaving through the fir trees, creating an atmosphere that captivated me! The setting sun was perfect for enhancing the foreground shadows and providing ideal lighting for the scene.
A frigid version of the landscape thanks to the infrared radiation captured at 720 nm. These fir trees have become White Walkers… They remind me of a cross between the Ents from Lord of the Rings and the Night King from Game of Thrones.
