Walking in the fresh snow under some heavy clouds in Rougemont. A saw this wooden cabin in the distance with a fence going around. The sun, barely piercing through the clouds, gave a very moody atmosphere to the shot.

The infrared 850nm doesn’t allow visible light to be seen by my camera. It creates a very special feeling when shooting at the sun.

The nature around my town became my playground, thanks to infrared.

By manipulating the wavelength of light, I can change the the colors and contrast of the same scene.

Here is the same shot, in blue or orange tones, shot using a 590 nm infrared filter. This one let a good portion of the visible spectrum, giving a good amount of colors to work with. The blue and orange tones are achieved by swapping the red and blue channel locally.

The nature around my town became my playground, thanks to infrared.

This one marked a turning point in my editing process with infrared. The usual path in editing infrared is to swap the color channel red and blue to have the foliage and grass in orange and the sky in a shade ob blue.

I struggled for a couple of weeks until I decided to start over and use the original blue tones on that foliage, without the channel swap step.

This image reminds me not to be scared of a restart and do not hesitate to rethink my workflow to find the edit that the image needs.
