I saw an opportunity for a beautiful sunset on a Tuesday afternoon. The wind was blowing the clouds at an interesting speed to do a timelapse. I used the IR Chrome filter in my full spectrum camera, to maximise the red tones on the clouds, and I wasn’t disappointed!

After 20 minutes, the clouds started light up the top right of the image, before going across the whole composition… it was crazy!

A magnificent tree looking at the sunset. I love finding these trees that have like a soul. The atmosphere around them, with the right light, is mesmerising. I spend almost 2 hours on that location to make sure I have the right light on it. The sun was moving behind a small forest, and the shadows were changing quickly.

To get that result, I had to blend multiple exposures to get the tree trunk nicely lit up. Then, I used 6 vertical shots to capture the whole scene as big as I can.

I love rediscovering the nature around me, thanks to infrared. Each image is an interpretation of the scene in front of my lens. Sometime I wonder if you, the viewer, would have done the same choice or going in a totally different path… Everything choices i made during the shooting is personal. I like to take the time in location, before shooting, to get a feel for the place. The sounds, the colours, the temperature… everything is useful to deliver the best interpretation possible.

Nature is my playground, I love to play around with filters and colours on location and bring my vision into reality during the editing process.

This short video shows you the idea behind this work. Using HTML and some JavaScript, I want to bring you a little bit of the joy I experience while editing. By clicking on the sky, the grass and the trees, you will be able to switch between orange and blue. The blue is the main color I captured using my full spectrum camera and a 590nm filter. The orange, is the result of inverting the channels blue and red during the editing process.

Memories from Zermatt.

I’ve spent 2 days at Zermatt with my wife and during which I took my full spectrum camera, of course 😁

The Matterhorn always had clouds, but I still got lucky enough to to have a nice shot of it early in the morning.

Otherwise, two hikes brought us into some incredible places! The Gornergrat and the deep canyon of the Gorner river.

A beautiful long weekend ☺️

I`ve found myself spending an increasing amount of time scooting new locations. I need to interpret what I see in a new way. That forces me to take a deeper look at all details and be very mindful of how the visible, and invisible, light shapes the landscape.

I always wanted to find a way to be inspired by my local environment. Using infrared, I`m able to change some markers to create a unique version of nature. This sparks the curiosity of the viewer. The nature around me has never been so mesmerizing.

"B3Y0ND" is an encouragement to reconnect ourselves to the nature around us. To look beyond what we see and be inspired by the wonders of our world.

The island "De La Harpe" was captured using a 720 nm filter. The green foliage of the trees shines under a dark blue sky. The stars were taken in visible light during the night in the Alps. The final image reveals a different perspective of a renowned location in Rolle, Switzerland.

This modified camera is a Canon 5D MKII. I opened it myself to get a full spectrum camera, that can capture Ultraviolet, visible light and infrared.

With this new creative tool and some filters, I can capture nature like never before!
