WRAPPED IN SILENCE

A tree, whiteness, and nothing else to hear. Some landscapes need no explanation, just a moment of looking.

On the path to Mont-Tendre, above Montricher. A demanding day: I was well equipped, but the cold was piercing. Everything was frozen in ice. The fir tree’s dark green became icy blue; the snow kept its purity. Around me, only this tree and silence.
