VORTEX

A tree with white leaves, alone in the frame. Above it, a cloud swirls, as if the sky had chosen to respond.

On the road down the Aubonne valley, between Lavigny and Aubonne, near the path to the arboretum. Only one angle kept the power lines out of the frame. To include both the tree and the cloud, I took several vertical photographs and later assembled them into a horizontal panorama. The cloud was barely visible to the naked eye; I only really discovered it back at my desk, while processing the image.
